Craig Breen reckons Targa Florio-Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia’s limited competitive distance will turn the event into flat-out sprint for glory.

While some rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge exceed 300 competitive kilometres, the 11 stages that make up the fifth round of the all-action series in Sicily this week total just 151.95 kilometres.

Breen, who will drive an HRT Motorsport Peugeot 207 Super 2000 on the asphalt rally, said: “You’ve really got to be on it from the start because it’s such a short event.”

Defending IRC champion Andreas Mikkelsen, who will drive a ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia on the event, added: “It’s a shame only 150 kilometres, I’d be happy if it was a lot longer than that.”
