Block relishing fight in France
American ace enjoying close battle with Campana for WRC points
Ken Block says he can’t wait to resume his battle with Pierre Campana for the final world championship point on Rallye de France Alsace tomorrow [Sunday].
Block, in a Monster World Rally Team Ford Fiesta RS WRC, is seven seconds behind the Equipe de France FFSA MINI John Cooper Works WRC driver with six stages remaining.
The pair have fought out a close battle on day two of the Strasbourg event with Campana just ahead at the completion of Saturday’s final test.
“I’ve really enjoyed the battle with Pierre,” said Gymkhana FOUR star Block. “It’s been close all day and after being so frustrated in Germany I can’t tell you how good it feels for the confidence to be in a fight like this. I’ve still got so little experience on Tarmac but I’ve been able to push and that means a lot. I’d really like to be in the top 10 and I’ll give it my best shot tomorrow.”
Corsican Campana, who is being supported by the French motorsport federation, said: “I’m very happy today, I’ve made good progress and I have a better feeling with the car.”
