Block: WRC is more fun than ever
He is having the time of his life
Gymkhana star Ken Block, contesting his first event of this year’s World Rally Championship powered by Nokia, says that he’s enjoying the WRC more than ever - on the event that he knows best of all.
“This was the first rally that we really started making notes for and also I really enjoy the roads here,” said Block, who drives a Ford Fiesta RS WRC for the Monster World Rally Team. “Unfortunately, although I love this event, I don’t think it loves me! The puncture we had yesterday cost us a lot of time and that really sucked.”
The American is currently just outside the top 10 on the first of three events that he will contest this year, together with Brother Rally New Zealand and Neste Oil Rally Finland.
“It’s a pity that I’m not doing more but the rallies that I’m doing are great, and coming back to the WRC really makes me appreciate the guys that I’m up against and these fantastic cars,” added Block. “The only thing is that it obviously makes it more difficult for me to compete. The last time I sat in this car was November, but I’m not complaining: I’m having an absolute blast.”
