Basso: Next stop, the IRC!

Giandomenico Basso is gearing up for his return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on next month’s Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse boosted by his victory on an event in Italy last weekend.

Basso, a four-time IRC event-winner, was contesting Rally 1000 Miglia in his homeland and triumphed at the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RRC.

“This was not an easy rally at all,” said Basso. “I was still learning the car so I was very impressed with the performance. Corsica will be much tougher with more technical roads and the brakes will take real punishment but I go there with this excellent result.”
