Barrable targets expanded IRC programme

Robert Barrable wants to increase his Intercontinental Rally Challenge schedule following a strong return to the series on the Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally earlier this month.

Barrable finished sixth on the asphalt event, which began with a spectacular superspecial stage in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter on Good Friday, 6 April.

He is already committed to June’s GEKO Ypres Rally and Barum Czech Rally Zlín at the end of August and now wants to take on more rounds of the all-action series in hid ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000. He is working on finding the funding to do so.

“We’re definitely going to go back to Ypres and Zlín and hopefully finish off on another IRC round somewhere,” said Barrable.

Prior to the Circuit of Ireland Rally, Barrable announced a partnership agreement with ŠKODA Ireland. He said: “I’m delighted to have such a great brand like ŠKODA supporting the team, the ŠKODA Fabia S2000 is a fantastic rally car, with the added support from ŠKODA Ireland will hopefully lead to further success this season.

ŠKODA Ireland marketing manager Raymond Leddy said: “ŠKODA Ireland is very pleased to be able to support rising Irish sports stars like Robert and we hope this sponsorship can help him further his career. We can see the potential in Robert and are delighted to be involved.”
