Azores boss honoured to open 2012 IRC season

Sata Rallye Acores organising head Francisco Rosa Coelho says it is an “honour” for his event to open next year’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

The gravel event on the Atlantic archipelago has formed part of the IRC schedule since 2009. The 2012 edition will take place from 23-25 February as round one of the 13-event IRC season.

“It’s very important for us, very important for all Azores, the government and the people to be the first round”, said Francisco Rosa Coelho. “It’s an honour to open the IRC, we’re very expectant and we hope our success is the success of the IRC.”
