After SS12: Corsica despair for Mikkelsen
The Norwegian suffered a front-right puncture
Andreas Mikkelsen’s hopes of claiming a podium finish on Tour de Corse-E.Leclerc appear to be over after the Norwegian suffered a front-right puncture on stage 12.
The Škoda UK Motorsport driver lost more than three minutes and has dropped from third to eighth as a result. “I don’t know where it happened, I didn’t cut anywhere a lot,” said the dejected 21-year-old.
Thierry Neuville continues to lead the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier in his Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207. The 22-year-old was three-tenths of a second faster on the stage than Jan Kopecký, whom he leads in the overall standings by 16.5s.
Freddy Loix climbs to third with Bryan Bouffier moving ahead of Pierre Campana into what has become fourth overall following Mikkelsen’s delay.
