Vettel looking forward to 'roller

Reigning Formula 1 Champion Sebastian Vettel has likened a lap around the still relatively new Buddh International Circuit as a “roller coaster”, as he looks forward to reconvening his Championship battle this weekend at the Indian Grand Prix. The German is now six points ahead of Alonso in the Championship, and is eager to stretch his lead at the top this weekend.

The Red Bull driver simply dominated last year’s inaugural Indian Grand Prix, storming to pole position, fastest lap and the race victory by just over eight seconds to the McLaren of Jenson Button. This weekend Sebastian Vettel will be looking to replicate such success, as he continues to battle for Championship supremacy with the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso. With only six points separating the two, one tiny mistake for either of the two could have massive implications on the outcome of the Drivers’ Championship.

“I loved the track layout last year, but not just because I won the race.” Explained Sebastian Vettel, “With an average speed of 235kph, the course is the second quickest of the year after Monza. There is a lot of elevation change around the lap which adds to the fun, from as much as 8% downhill and up to 10% uphill; it’s like a roller coaster! It really has emerged as one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar for the drivers."

Sebastian Vettel has led every single racing lap since Lewis Hamilton’s gearbox failure at the Singapore Grand Prix last month, a feat which clearly demonstrates Red Bull’s return to power at the front of the field. The German driver has also led every single racing lap at the Indian Grand Prix, and will be unarguably striving to do so again this weekend as the season draws to a thrilling conclusion.
