Mark Webber believes the main teams will

After the most competitive start to a Formula 1 season in many years, Mark Webber still believes the main teams will eventually break away and still do well come the end of the 2012 season. In the first five races, we have had five different drivers win from five different teams, with a possible sixth winner on the cards at Monaco this weekend.

However, with such unpredictabilities in Formula 1 this season, Red Bull’s Mark Webber still believes the main teams such as Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari will still do well. The Australian driver has questioned the topsy-turvy start to the season recently, stating that some fans might become alienated with the way the sport has evolved in 2012.

“It depends on who you are.” Stated Webber, when asked about what he thinks of the inconsistency of F1 in 2012. “I think for the purist, I think people are taking a little bit of time to get used to it. Obviously, no one’s really got any momentum yet in terms of results in teams. If you want to have lots and lots of different teams being competitive that’s the way it is at the moment, which I don’t think is too bad. But let’s see. I think ultimately the main teams will still do well at the end of the season.”

Mark Webber has done well in previous years around the Monte-Carlo street circuit, having won the Monaco Grand Prix in 2010 for Red Bull, as well as achieving his first podium finish in the sport at the circuit in 2005. With Red Bull having already won in 2012, with reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel at the wheel, Mark Webber will be striving to win Red Bull’s second race in 2012, and their third consecutive victory around at Monaco.
