Delecour keen on more IRC action
"I was pushing hard and enjoying myself"
François Delecour says he loved driving his Renault Mégane RS on Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse to the extent he wants to take part on more rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in 2012.
Rallying legend Delecour, 49, finished third in the IRC Production Cup behind Subaru drivers Andreas Aigner and Toshi Arai and second to IRC 2WD Cup winner Petru Antone Boschetti in a Renault Clio R3.
“I was pushing hard and enjoying myself a lot and for sure I had the feeling to go even faster,” said Delecour. “The chassis with this car is very good but this rally is not easy to come to the finish and in a Group N car the brakes are not at the same level and it is difficult.”
He continued: “I don’t know what I will do next in this car but I would love to do Ypres and maybe Sanremo, they would be good rallies for me but for sure nothing is certain.”
