SS4: Solberg on the comeback trail
News after SS4
Citroen privateer Petter Solberg was the fastest driver through SS4 as he continued to try and claw back time lost earlier in the day.
The Norwegian dropped 2min 30sec on SS1 when he stopped to change a wheel after a rear tyre was pushed off the rim. But after completing the repeated Ruwertal/Fell test 1.8sec quicker than rally leader Sebastien Loeb, Solberg insisted a decent finish was still possible.
“I took nine seconds from Latvala here. I’ve done my calculations and I need to take eight per stage to do well here. So that worked. Now I have to push hard. I want to get back again and get a lot of points. At the end of the season I want to be in the top three so I have to stop messing about, you know?”
Sebastien Loeb and Dani Sordo rounded off the top three times though the stage.
