Nykjær and Romanov shine in the weekend
Driving in England and Germany
WTCC racers Michel Nykjær and Andrei Romanov claimed brilliant results in the past weekend.
Nykjær finished a brilliant second in the Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone. Sharing a Jet Alliance Porsche 997 with Rich, Lichtner-Hoyer, Seefried and Eckart, the Dane won the Class 2 and ended the race only 58 seconds behind the winning Ferrari 430 GTC.
Rob Huff also took part in the race, but after placing his Aquila CR1 on pole position he was forced to an early retire because of technical problems.
Romanov obtained his third victory of the season in the German ADAC Procar during the series’ finale at Oschersleben. At the wheel of his Liqui Moly Team Engstler BMW 320si, the Russian driver finished the first race in third, behind team-mates Roland Hertner and Johannes Leidinger, then he led another 1-2-3-4 for the team directed by Kurt Treml, winning the second race from Hertner and Florian Spengler. These results enabled Romanov to climb to sixth in the points, with three wins out of the four races he took part in.
