After SS13: First stage win for Kopecký

Jan Kopecký has taken his first stage win of Rally Argentina to close the gap to third-placed Kris Meeke to 22.2 seconds. However, Meeke appears to have done enough to keep hold of the final podium spot after reporting the electronic glitch that hampered his Peugeot 207 on the morning loop has been cured by going third quickest.

Kopecký’s Škoda Motorsport team-mate Juho Hänninen continues to lead overall and has increased his advantage over Guy Wilks to 47.1s with one gravel stage remaining before the event-closing Tarmac superspecial in Carlos Paz

After SS14: Drama for Meeke in Argentina

Rally Argentina has taken a dramatic twist after Kris Meeke lost third place with a broken steering joint on the penultimate stage on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier.

The Peugeot UK driver reported sensing a problem on the previous stage. The delay has cost him almost four minutes and has dropped him to sixth place. It’s not clear if he will be able to reach the finish in Carlos Paz.

Juho Hänninen is now just one stage away from winning the gravel event after extending his lead over Guy Wilks to 50.4 seconds with his 11th stage win of the rally.

Meeke retires from Rally Argentina

Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Kris Meeke has been forced to retire from Rally Argentina. Along with co-driver Paul Nagle, Meeke tried unsuccessfully to repair damage to his Peugeot 207´s steering, which was sustained on the penultimate stage of the rally, on the subsequent road section.

After SS15: Hänninen wins Rally Argentina

Juho Hänninen has won Rally Argentina. The Škoda Fabia driver secured the victory, his first of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge season, by safely completing the event-closing superspecial stage through the streets of Carlos Paz.

The win gives the Finnish driver a five-point championship lead after three events.

Guy Wilks has taken second with Jan Kopecký inheriting third place from Kris Meeke to complete a Škoda one-two-three.
