Q&A with Robert Kubica before (...)

Robert, what’s your state of mind before the first European race of the season?

I think the whole team is extremely motivated. The start of the season has been very productive for us and we’ve scored more points than I could have hoped for. Our pace is good; I’m getting consistently into Q3 and I have scored points in the last three races. I’m also enjoying the battles on the track, especially when you know you are fighting for points. Also, we’ve made sure we have taken advantage of the difficult track conditions so far this year. Overall, it’s fair to say that we’ve done a good job.

What new developments do you have this weekend?

It’s mainly a development to the front wing, but it’s not certain we will use it. We will have to see if that’s enough. I would have liked more developments for Barcelona, but we have brought so many new parts to the first four races that I can’t complain. We now need to wait and see what our competitors have brought for this race.

What is your objective for the upcoming races?

The driver’s job has changed this year. You now have to pace yourself in the races; anticipate the tyre wear, and react to the changing track conditions. My philosophy is to take the season race by race, but we must continue attacking, pushing hard and improving the car. One of our strengths is making sure we seize every possible opportunity.
