New HRT wing en route to Sepang - Liuzzi

HRT has received the green light to debut its 2011-specification front wing in Malaysia this weekend.

After failing to qualify in Melbourne with the 2010 wing cobbled onto the new car, the component has now passed the mandatory FIA crash test and is being shipped to Sepang.

"We should have it before the start of the Friday session," Vitantonio Liuzzi is quoted by the Spanish newspaper AS.

"We are getting many new parts and are much more positive about being at a higher level than in Australia," added the Italian.

Liuzzi said he is hoping for a step forward to the tune of seven-tenths in Malaysia, even though he is still concerned about the 107 per cent qualifying rule.

"We cannot say we will be in the race, but I’m sure we will be closer to Virgin than before," he said, revealing that Sepang is HRT’s "worst track" in terms of worrying about the qualifying rule.

It also emerged on Thursday that HRT will rent one of the wind tunnels at Mercedes GP’s Brackley headquarters.
