Force India’s reserve driver Jules Bianchi will get his fifth outing for the Silverstone-based outfit during first practice this weekend ahead of the German Grand Prix, replacing Paul di Resta. The Frenchman has driven at the Chinese, Spanish, European and British Grands Prix, all in the opening practice session of the weekend.

The 22-year-old has become the second reserve driver to be confirmed for the opening practice session this weekend, alongside HRT’s Dani Clos. With a limit on in-season testing, many teams have followed the trend of allowing their reserve drivers behind the wheel at the beginning of a weekend, including Williams, Force India, Caterham and HRT.

Paul di Resta will naturally return behind the wheel of the VJM05 later in the afternoon for second practice, as the Force India duo aim for another competitive race weekend around the legendary Hockenheimring.
