Formula 2 title leader Nikola Tsolov is continuing to strengthen his case for a Formula 1 promotion, with his team boss saying the Red Bull junior deserves a place on the 2027 grid.

Paddock speculation has intensified in recent weeks that Red Bull has already decided that Tsolov will race for Racing Bulls in 2027, although no official confirmation has been forthcoming.

After Tsolov completed a historic Silverstone clean sweep to become the first driver to win three consecutive Formula 2 races, Campos Racing boss Adrian Campos said the 18-year-old is proving he belongs in Formula 1.

"He’s the one making the difference," Campos said.

"We are giving him a good car, but he’s the one making the difference. He does everything so easily, and that is surprising everyone.

"And to be honest, I really hope that he gets a chance in F1. He really deserves it."

The growing speculation comes as Liam Lawson continues rebuilding his reputation after last year’s difficult season.

Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher believes the New Zealander has been one of 2026’s standout performers.

"He’s done a great job again," he told Sky Deutschland.

"There have been nine race weekends so far and seven times he was in the points. That is really class and also shows how good the atmosphere within that team is."

"They have brought Lawson back to where he once was and rebuilt him. That speaks for the good culture within the team."

Lawson, however, insists he is not yet thinking about where he will be in 2027.

"Will I still be here in 2027? Honestly, I haven’t even thought about it," he said.

"For now, I’m just focused on continuing to do what we’ve been doing. It’s been working really well lately."
