Test at Smolensk for Lada Sport

The LADA Sport Lukoil team is currently testing at the Smolensk Ring that is located 300 km from Moscow.

James Thompson and Mikhail Kozlovskiy are testing new technical developments in view of next week’s WTCC race meeting at the Moscow Raceway.

Team principal Victor Shapovalov declared: “We have a lot of things to try. We are focusing on changes to the front suspension and some other upgrades in the construction of the car and its set-up. We make a few changes before each WTCC event. It is a risk when the car is being updated on a regular basis. It puts additional pressure on the drivers because they need time to understand how these new things work. If the car is not modified during the season, the drivers get used to it quicker and this could lead to better results in terms of speed. But we realize that our car need improvement and we modify it to accelerate the development. I think the team is moving in the right direction. Hopefully the LADA Granta cars will be much faster at the Moscow Raceway.”
