SS14: More Sardinia stage glory for Latvala

Loeb completes day two with overall advantage

Jari-Matti Latvala has completed day two of Rally d’Italia Sardegna by setting the pace on Saturday’s final stage.

The Ford driver was fastest on all but one of day two’s six stages in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC as he continues his recovery from his retirement on Friday.

Mikko Hirvonen was second quickest and trims Sebastien Loeb’s overall lead to 28.3s as a result.

Loeb was fourth fastest on the stage, two-tenths of a second slower than Petter Solberg who is fourth in the overall standings behind Sebastien Ogier.

Crews are now returning to service and the overnight halt in Olbia. Four stages remain on Sunday.
