Andersson: more points for PROTON

Per-Gunnar Andersson hopes for a top 10 finish in the ever-improving PROTON Satria Neo S2000 at this weekend’s Canon Mecsek Rallye.

Andersson took his first IRC Series points at the previous round, and while the focus of the team is on completing as many kilometers as possible, the Swede believes another top 10 finish is there for the taking.

“For sure we’re trying our best to get some points again,” said Andersson. “We were able to show at some places in Barum that we had quite good speed, and I hope to be able to transfer that speed from there to here, and to be as competitive as possible.

“You always look at the top, but realistically if we could finish in the top seven we would be very happy.”

The nature of the roads at the Hungarian round have proved the biggest challenge so far.

“We were more happy with the car in Barum. We have been struggling a little bit with understeer in long corners and here there are a lot of long corners. So, yes, I could be happier, but we’ll see what we can do when the rally starts.”
