Young driver test: Vergne sets the pace

The second day of the young driver test saw once again Jean-Eric Vergne setting the pace at the wheel of the RB7.

The Frenchman set the fastest time of the day despite some problems which lost him some track time. In the Ferrari camp, Jules Bianchi had a busy day at the office and ended the day 2nd quickest. Unlike yesterday, though, he was only 0.091s slower than the Red Bull Racing driver.

Third fastest was McLaren’s Gary Paffett. He too lost some time with mechanical problems in the morning. There were also some issues for Valtteri Bottas and Williams. The Finn concluded the session with the fourth fastest time and has now started his journey from Abu Dhabi to Macau, where he is due to contest the Formula Three Grand Prix this weekend.

Johnny Cecotto Jr set the fifth fastest time for Force India. He was quicker than Sauber’s Esteban Gutierrez and Sam Bird’s Mercedes.
