Volkswagen and Campos?

Spanish publication Dario AS claims that the struggling Campos Meta team is undergoing a complete overhaul with founder Adrian Campos leaving the team while Bernie Ecclestone and current team principal Jose Ramon Carabante take control for the coming season.

With its debt to chassis builder Dallara settled, the plan is for Volkswagen take over the team at the end of the season, with former Midland / Spyker team principal Colin Kolles running the team. The team’s base will remain in Valencia.

Volkswagen has been rumoured to be interested in entering the sport for some time, with suggestions late last year that the firm would become an engine supplier in 2012.

Bruno Senna is the only contracted driver with the team at the moment and the Spanish publication claims that the contract will be honoured.
