Todt visits Kubica in hospital

FIA president Jean Todt on Sunday visited Robert Kubica in hospital.

According to Italian reports including the local Il Vostro Giornale as well as Italian news agency ANSA, the Frenchman was accompanied by other officials of the sport’s governing body including Professor Gerard Saillant.

Todt left the Santa Corona hospital without commenting, the reports said.

"Robert is continuing here on the basis of the plan established by the medical staff," said Polish driver Kubica’s manager Daniele Morelli.

"His medical and psychological conditions are good, certainly we will stay here for a few weeks more and then evaluate the next steps based on his clinical condition," he added.

Morelli said Todt’s visit was a "personal visit" rather than an official one.

ANSA news agency said Todt was satisfied with the care Kubica is receiving.

The report also said the 26-year-old’s hospital room in the spinal rehabilitation unit of the hospital is guarded by security guards.
