Renault strengthens its F1 involvement

Renault is delighted to announce new engine supply agreements with Red Bull Racing and 1Malaysia Racing Team (Lotus Racing) Ltd for the 2011 season and beyond.

Renault will supply engines to Red Bull Racing for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. This new agreement includes a greater Renault presence on the Red Bull cars, beginning with this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Renault brand will now be visible on the nose cone and driver helmets in addition to its traditional home on the engine cover.

The new arrival to the Renault fold will be 1Malaysia Racing Team (UK) Ltd, operating during the 2010 season as Lotus Racing and the season’s most successful start-up entrant, with whom an engine supply agreement has been reached for the next two years.

Bernard Rey, President of Renault Sport, commented: “Renault is delighted to announce an expanded agreement with Red Bull Racing and the arrival of a new customer, 1Malaysia Racing Team (UK) Ltd.

“These new agreements mean that Renault engines will power three teams next year
– in simple terms, 25% of the cars on the grid.

“We remain firm believers in the benefits of our successful involvement in F1: it
positions Renault as a technological leader, and boosts awareness of the brand
across the globe.”
