A rain shower disrupted the start of the second 90-minute practice session late on Friday afternoon.

The rain was not heavy but nonetheless significant, resulting in the cars waiting in their pit garages for better weather.

"No point in running now, the track is neither fully wet nor ok for slicks," said Ferrari.

Also on Twitter, Lotus’ Mike Gascoyne added: "Looks like more rain coming."

Meanwhile, Renault’s Vitaly Petrov was fined EUR7000 after breaking the 60kph speed limit in first practice by a whopping 34.6kph.
