Pirelli two day test at Barcelona with Ferrari concludes

The two days of 2017 Pirelli tyre development tests on the Montmelò circuit have concluded, with Sebastian Vettel behind the wheel of a Ferrari mule car, modified to simulate the downforce levels of 2017.

The Pirelli tests at Paul Ricard, which began yesterday with Mercedes, will continue tomorrow with driver Pascal Wehrlein.

As with yesterday’s test, today’s focused solely on slick tyres in the new sizes forseen for 2017: 305/670-13 front and 405/670-13 rear.

Today’s lap totals are, 156 by Ferrari and 89 by Mercedes, which are added to yesterday’s 111 and 134 respectively.

The next test session is expected to be on September 21 and 22, where Mercedes will again return to Paul Ricard, but this time with the 2017 Pirelli wet tyres.
