Montezemolo expects further wins

It has become something of a habit for Ferrari President, Luca di Montezemolo, to make the most of the relatively quiet time at Maranello in these first few days of August to catch up with the Scuderia Team Principal to assess the first part of the season, the organisation, its programmes and future projects, both short and long term. With this in mind, this morning, Montezemolo convened Stefano Domenicali and his key men, Pat Fry and Luca Marmorini.

During the in depth discussions, Montezemolo was brought up to speed on the short term development programme for the 150° Italia, which will see new parts coming right from the next race, the Belgian Grand Prix on 28 August. “I can see the right spirit in the team after a very difficult start to the season,” said the President to ferrari.com. “Domenicali and his crew seem very determined, concentrating fully on their tasks for the second part of the year which I am sure will feature Ferrari in the role of a key player. I expect we will pick up wins to add to the important and historically very significant victory achieved at Silverstone.”

Also discussed at the meeting was an update regarding the state of play of the design of the 2012 car, following which the President and Domenicali looked at the overall situation within Formula 1, in terms of its organisation and regulations: there is no doubt the sport is approaching a delicate phase, featuring important deadlines and new horizons. Ferrari will be keen to look in depth at certain issues in the most appropriate way, aware of its historically central role in the world of motor sport.
