Monteiro is the voice of Lewis Hamilton’s character in Cars 2

Tiago Monteiro is the voice double for the character played by former F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton in the film Cars 2, which has its theatrical release this summer.

The Portuguese driver had a full schedule between two races. In addition to his cinematic responsibilities, lending his voice to an emblematic character, Tiago went to France with his family at Disney’s invitation to take part in the launch of some new Euro Disney attractions, and also to take part in promotional events held by SEAT, the constructor he races for in the FIA’s World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). While in France, Tiago also was an active participant in an event held by his sponsor Monroe.

Tiago shared his experience in the production of Pixar Studios’ Cars 2 with Diana Pereira, who lent her voice to a computer. "It was a very amusing experience, especially because at home we all really love Cars," Tiago smiled, "I can’t wait to see the reaction of our sons, nephews, and cousins when they see the film."

Tiago and Diana also took part in the RTP program "Who plotted against Peter Pan?" presented by Catarina Furtado, and which will airs April 30. "It’s very amusing to answer questions asked by children. They are always sincere and authentic. It was a great pleasure interacting with them."

Tiago Monteiro will now readjust his focus to the upcoming WTCC races to take place next weekend on Belgium’s Zolder Circuit.
