Mark Webber surprised to qualify fourth

Mark Webber has admitted how surprised he is to have qualified 4th for tomorrows Canadian Grand Prix, after struggling with confidence in the car throughout the last few runs. After taking a memorable victory last time out in Monaco, the Australian driver will striving to become the first repeat winner of the season tomorrow.

In comparison to Mark Webber, his team-mate Sebastian Vettel has taken pole position for tomorrows race. The Milton Keynes-based outfit have never won around the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, and both Red Bull drivers will be eager to bring that stat to an end in tomorrows race. With passing relatively easy around the track, victory is not a given for either Red Bull drivers.

“I’m surprised I’m in fourth – it wasn’t the smoothest session, so I’m actually quite surprised to be there.” Explained Mark Webber, “I wasn’t super happy with the last few runs in terms of confidence in the car and that means you don’t get the most out of yourself, so fourth is okay.”

Although the 2012 season has been highly unpredictable, Red Bull are still leading the Constructors Championship after both drivers have consistently scored well at each race so far. They are the only team to have had both drivers win this season, and are well set for a potential third victory of the 2012 season tomorrow. However, with the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in their midst, it will a tough 70 laps for both Red Bull drivers.
