Kimi Raikkonen: I’m disappointed not to have a win yet

Kimi Raikkonen has expressed his dissatisfaction at having not won a Grand Prix yet in 2012, although the Iceman is only eight races in to his return to Formula 1. The 2007 World Champion has finished on the podium three times so far in 2012, with his latest podium finish coming last time out with 2nd at the European Grand Prix.

As the Formula 1 fraternity gears up for the British Grand Prix this weekend, Kimi Raikkonen will once again be striving for victory in a car which is blatantly capable of winning races. Both he and his team-mate Romain Grosjean have looked highly competitive so far this season, with both drivers finishing on the podium on numerous occasions. Kimi Raikkonen has finished every race of the 2012 season so far, and currently sits 6th in the Drivers’ Championship.

“If you asked me before the start of the season whether I would be happy with podiums I would have said yes, but now I’ve had some good results, I want more.” Explained Kimi Raikkonen, “In the last few races the results haven’t been as strong as I’ve wanted. We’ve finished well but I’m disappointed not to have a win yet. We just have to get everything together and I’m sure it can come.”

Kimi Raikkonen has yet to race around the revised Silverstone layout, which encompasses the new ‘Arena Complex’. The Finn’s last and only victory around Silverstone occurred in 2007, when the then Ferrari driver finished ahead of the McLaren duo of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. The Iceman will undeniably be striving to repeat this victory once again this weekend, and take his 19th career victory.
