Jerez, Day 3: Toro Rosso test report

The STR9 was back on track and completed 30 laps with Jean-Eric Vergne at the wheel, which is a much more positive result than yesterday, showing that work is going in the right direction. The team was able to complete some useful work on checking the systems, even if it is still too early to assess the overall performance of the package. Generally, today’s work was a good step forward. Daniil Kvyat takes over behind the wheel tomorrow for the fourth and final day, where we hope to learn more about the car and the power unit.

Jean-Eric Vergne: “It was still a difficult day, but I’d say a lot more positive than the previous two, in fact it was a massive step forward. Towards the end, we were able to complete a few laps with the power unit running well. I am pleased with the work done by the team, especially on the Renault side. After yesterday, everyone stayed calm and identified the problem. I believe we now have a good basis on which to work overnight so that tomorrow we can make even more progress.”
