Ferrari announces Bianchi as 2011 tester

Ferrari announced today that Jules Bianchi will take on the role of test driver for the 2011 season.

Jules, who continues to be part of the Ferrari Driver Academy Programme, will make his debut in his new position this coming 16 November as part of the two day young driver test being held at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit.

The Scuderia’s commitment to young drivers is also reflected in the third annual day of testing when the top three finishers in the Italian Formula 3 Championship get to drive a Formula 1 car: on 2 December, at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome, the top three in the series will take to the track at the wheel of an F2008: they are Brazil’s Cesar Ramos, Stephane Richelmi from Monaco and the Italian, Andrea Caldarelli.

Sponsorship agreement with Kaspersky lab

Ferrari also announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with Kaspersky Lab, which will cover the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

“Kaspersky Lab is a world leader in the IT data protection field and already this year, it joined the ranks of our partners, as an Official Supplier,” said the Scuderia’s Team Principal, Stefano Domenicali. “We are pleased that they have decided to become even more involved with us. We share similar values with Kaspersky Lab in the field of technical research, striving to be innovative with a strong desire to succeed in our respective areas of activity.”

The Kaspersky Lab logo will already be visible on the Ferrari cars as from this Grand Prix, located on the nose, which is the position it will occupy for the next two seasons.
