Alonso's feeling grows in Jerez

It was a positive day today for the Scuderia Ferrari, working, like the other ten F1 teams, at the third test session with the Formula 1 Championship in sight.

After two days of bad weather today the conditions improved, apart from a couple of hours in the morning, when there were still some wet sectors on the track. Eventually the cars could be fitted with tyres for a dry track, with the tarmac temperature finally on acceptable levels.

Fernando Alonso started his fourth day of testing with his new team just after 9am and stopped driving around 20 minutes before the official end of the training session. During the day he drove 132 laps and got a good impression of the car.

"I’m satisfied by today, because we could drive many miles on the dry,” Fernando told Ferrari website. "The results are positive, because we got to know the new car better. Also my place in the team is improving from day to day, as is my feeling for the F10. We can confirm that step by step we’re arriving at 100%.”

Fernando drove today’s second fastest lap, in a time of 1.21.115, while the fastest man on the track was Red Bull’s Mark Webber, the only driver remaining below 1.20 (1.19.299).

Alonso will be back on the track tomorrow, hopefully with more sun. The weather forecast is pretty good: sun throughout the day with possible showers in the evening.
