Virgin Racing is delighted to welcome a new addition to its sponsorship portfolio in time for the team’s racing debut in this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix.

St. Tropez, the UK’s no. 1 Skin Finishing brand, has teamed up with Virgin Racing for the opening race of the 2010 season, which takes place at the Sakhir circuit in the Kingdom of Bahrain on March 12/13/14. The St. Tropez logo will feature on the rear wing endplates of Virgin Racing’s VR-01 race car, with a view to developing a long-term relationship with the team for the coming season.

Graeme Lowdon, Virgin Racing’s CEO, commented: “We are delighted to welcome St. Tropez to Virgin Racing for the thrilling occasion of our Grand Prix debut this weekend. Bahrain is one race venue where sunshine is never in short supply and St. Tropez is a much-welcomed addition to our sponsorship portfolio, which I’m happy to say is also looking pretty healthy for the start of our inaugural season. After three long weeks of cold, wet weather during our pre-season testing campaign, we are all looking forward to heading for sunnier climes. It will be a challenging weekend for sure, with ambient temperatures of up to 35°C and track and cockpit temperatures at least 10°C hotter than that. Nonetheless, this is the moment we have all been working towards and we look forward to a strong start to our 2010 campaign.”

Michelle Feeney, CEO of St. Tropez, said: “As the UK’s leading skin finishing and tanning brand, we believe it’s only right to be associated with the glitz and glamour of Formula 1. Our products are usually reserved for catwalks, red carpets, film sets and photo shoots, so this collaboration is a new space for the St. Tropez brand. As such, we’re very much looking forward to supporting the Virgin Racing team throughout its debut season.”
