Sepp Wiegand says he has learned plenty on the Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally, round three of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

With two stages of the asphalt event left to run, Wiegand is in seventh overall in his ŠKODA Auto Deutschland Fabia Super 2000.

He said: “I’m not really happy with my pace because my pacenotes are not exactly correct for this rally. On the recce we drove really slow and we don’t see the complete bumps. Now we are really fast I am surprised the car jumps so high and is moving a lot. It is not easy here but we have learned a lot and that is the main thing because it’s good experience.

“The puncture yesterday was not nice and without this puncture maybe I could be two places higher but that’s rallying, that’s life.”

Wiegand is currently third in the IRC drivers’ standings following fourth-place finishes in Açores and Gran Canaria. He is on course for his third top 10 finish of 2012.
