The third and final day of testing in Valencia got underway this morning with a majority of the seven runners testing the new equipment for the first time.

Michael Schumacher aside, the big draw on Wednesday is Fernando Alonso’s debut in the new Ferrari. Team-mate Felipe Massa as so far dominated the timesheets at the Spanish test venue, so it will be interesting to see how the double word champion gets on with his new team.

Jaime Alguersuari is making his test debut in the Toro Rosso, Nico Hulkenberg is having his first taste of the Williams, while Vitaly Petrov makes his debut as a Renault racer. Last but by no means least; Jenson Button is testing the new McLaren for the first time.

We’ll have a brief report on the progress in Span in the early afternoon with a full report at the close of play.
