This Thursday Ocean Racing Technology premieres the new car for the 2011 season. The singleseaters go on track for the first time November 18th, in the circuit of Paul Ricard, France. The new car signifies a clear evolution, with new aerodynamic package, similar to that of the Formula 1 and with Pirelli tires exactly like those the F1’s will use.

Ocean knows that this shakedown is determinant for obtaining a good knowledge of the car and to reach a good setup, since there are no testing opportunities during the season. Therefore, the Portuguese team of the GP2 Series decided to request the experience of F1 driver Karun Chandhok for this test. Chandhok’s expertiese in Formula 1 and as former GP2 driver is a great plus in the development of the new one singleseater:

"I am very happy to go to Paul Ricard to help my old team. I really hope my experience in Formula 1 and in GP2 will be helpful to Ocean. My goal for 2011 is to remain in Formula 1, but for the time being is good to have the opportunity of knowing the new GP2 car and help Ocean to obtain to better setting," said Chandhock.

The 26 year old Indian driver sat this season on a Formula 1 Dalara, the brand that also developed the GP2 series chassis. Chandhok’s experience was also on the highest level, since he drove the Formula 1 car of the new world champions Red Bull, in the inauguration of the Korea International Circuit.

This way, Ocean wants to begin the new season to the best level, with a driver that knows well the team, GP2 and Formula 1 and is also someone with whom Ocean keeps an excellent relation.
