Valencia, FP2 - Oriola is close to the top
Muller still fastest
Pepe Oriola set an impressive fifth fastest lap in the second free practice session; the young Spaniards posted a time of 1:44.515 to emerge as the best of the Yokohama Trophy competitors immediately ahead of Kristian Poulsen (1:44.873) who was also the best BMW driver in sixth overall.
Just like in the first session the Chevrolet drivers clocked the fastest laps, with Yvan Muller first (1:43.050), Alain Menu second (1:43.954) and Rob Huff third (1:43.975).
Tiago Monteiro’s SUNRED León ranked in fourth with a lap of 1:44.191. Gabriele Tarquini and Tom Coronel were classified seventh and eighth while Aleksei Dudukalo and Yukinori Taniguchi impressively rounded up the top ten.
The session was disrupted by the red flag after ten minutes, when Fabio Fabiani crashed his BMW 320si against the barriers at the inside of Turn 1. A few minutes earlier his Proteam Racing team-mate Mehdi Bennani had spun out of Turn 14 causing a short yellow flag period.
