Storm forecast on Rally Argentina

Rally Argentina’s event-closing superspecial stage is likely to be held in wet conditions following forecasts of a heavy storm in Carlos Paz at 15:00hrs local time, which is shortly after the final gravel stage is due to have run.

Although it’s not certain how long the storm will last, the 3.30-kilometre street course is due to get underway at 16:23hrs local time.

In addition to the likelihood of heavy rain, strong winds are also expected and the teams in the service park in Carlos Paz have been warned to baton down awnings and secure other vital equipment.

The threat of a storm will be in contrast to the warm conditions experienced so far on the final day of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier in South America.

Rain affected the superspecial when it ran for the first time on Friday afternoon.
