Solberg enters Monte-Carlo with Peugeot

For the third year running, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) will kick off with the Rallye Monte Carlo, and Peugeot will be counting on one of the 207 Super 2000s that have been entered by a host of familiar names in its bid to win the 2011 event.

Top drivers in 207 Super 2000s

With just hours remaining before entries close, just short of 10 Peugeot 207 Super 2000s already figure on the list in the hands of drivers intent on putting on an exceptional show to mark the winter classic’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Their ranks include Bryan Bouffier, who recently secured the French title in a 207 Super 2000, Stéphane Sarrazin, and Norway’s Petter Solberg, for this one and only rally. All three will be defending the colours of Peugeot French dealers’ network. Peugeot Belgium will be represented by youngster Thierry Neuville, Bruno Magalhaes in the Peugeot Portugal-backed car and Guy Wilks who has been entered by Peugeot UK.

Peugeot 207 Super 2000 – a benchmark

As it prepares to tackle its fifth season, the Peugeot 207 Super 2000 continues to stand out as one of the cars to beat after forging an eloquent record in a high number of countries. Throughout its career to date, its development has been looked after by Peugeot Sport and the latest-spec version is the recently-launched 207 Super 2000 Evolution. To ensure that all the car’s drivers have an equal chance of winning, Peugeot Sport also provides comprehensive technical support. Following its one-two-three success on the 2009 Rallye Monte Carlo, Peugeot will be targeting a return to the top step of the podium on January’s event which promises to provide a fiercely-fought, high quality show.
