Ocean sweeps over the Mediterranean

For the second time in a row after the Monaco meeting, Ocean is sweeping over the Mediterranean. After Monte Carlo, it is Valencia’s turn to provide a street circuit for the GP2 Series championship teams, who return to competition after a month-long break.

Kevin Mirocha and Johnny Cecotto Jr. plan to take advantage of the season’s fourth meeting to move on to the next level in understanding the new car and Pirelli tyres.

After making the top 10 in Monaco, the German rookie says he is confident, "I think that our car has made progress for a while now, particularly with the soft tyres. It will be the first time for me racing at Valencia and after what I have seen, it is Monaco II, but faster," declared Kevin Mirocha. "Things went well in Monaco and I am confident. We will have to start by seeing how the Pirellis behave because they are new for everyone, but my hope is finishing in the top 10. I know that it won’t be easy, but with the team’s help I think I can adapt to the circuit quickly."

Johnny Cecotto Jr. also hopes that with the arrival of summer, Ocean Racing Technology will shine in the Valencia sun. The Venezuelan driver believes that the lessons learned in the first three meetings have never been put into practice all at once, but that combining them could lead to a good result on the Spanish circuit.

"With our engineers, we have analyzed the data and I am sincerely enthusiastic because I think that we have found the right solutions which will go well with the characteristics of this circuit," Johnny Cecotto Jr. declared. "We have new ideas, I like Valencia and its track was made for my driving style. I believe we are going to have a good weekend. I would like to climb the podium or at least secure some points. We have already demonstrated that we could be at the same level as faster cars, but we have not had a chance so far, and I hope that we will get that chance in Valencia."

The Valencia weekend will start with qualifying on Friday, June 24.
