Magalhães reveals close call
In Sardinia
Bruno Magalhães has revealed how he came within eight seconds of going over the time limit on Rally d’Italia-Sardegna.
The Peugeot Sport Portugal driver has picked up 2m30s of penalties after leaving the midday service halt in Simaxis almost 15 minutes late.
Magalhães’ 207 S2000 required extensive repairs after it suffered brake failure during the Gonnosnò test on Saturday morning.
He said: “It was very difficult to repair the brakes and because of this it took a long time. We were 15 minutes late leaving. Now the car is almost perfect but we have no chance because we are in a different race to the others now.”
Magalhães is currently 11th overall heading to the first Monte Lerno stage on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge event.
