Zlín restart for IRC Production Cup ace Pech
Jarosláv Orsak leads the IRC Production Cup
Czech hero Václav Pech will return for the final day of his home round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge following his exit on the sixth stage of Barum Czech Rally Zlín yesterday.
Pech had been leading the IRC Production Cup category in his Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX R4 despite being handed a 40-second time penalty for leaving first service behind schedule while his mechanics rushed to change a faulty front differential. His rally ended when two rear suspension arms failed on stage six.
Pech, who is co-driven by Petr Uhel, will run 13th on the road over Sunday’s final six stages, the first of which gets underway at 08:30hrs local time.
Jarosláv Orsak leads the IRC Production Cup standings after nine stages.
