The Volvo heavier by 20 kg in China
The Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T remains the reference
Last week at Suzuka, Robert Dhalgren clocked the fastest lap in the second race. It was the first fastest lap set by Volvo in WTCC and will result in the Swedish car being 20 kilograms heavier in China than in Japan.
According to the calculation of the compensation weight based on the lap times set in the three previous events (Oschersleben, Valencia and Suzuka) the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T remains the reference car and will be carrying again 40 kilos in addition to the minimum weight of 1150 kg.
The gaps between the Cruze and the BMW and Volvo cars is of 0.5 seconds that equates to 20 kilos of extra weight; the SUNRED cars will be 10 kg lighter.
The only model allowed to a weight reduction in China will be again the BMW 320si (-20kg).
Compensation weight Shanghai
+ 40 kg Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T
+ 20 kg BMW 320 TC, Volvo C30 Drive
+ 10 kg SUNRED SR León 1.6T
- 20 kg BMW 320si
