The new Honda Civic for the 2014 WTCC completed its first proper test at Motorland Aragón in Spain.

JAS Motorsport ran one car in full TC1 specs from Tuesday to Friday; the weather was mostly dry except on Wednesday, when the rain poured on the Spanish track.

The team focused on collecting the largest amount of data possible, in order to indentify the car’s strong points and the areas where to work for improving the performance.

Gabriele Tarquini was in charge of most of the work and commented: “The car is really fun to drive. Very fast in cornering, with a lot of grip thanks to the bigger tyres and the downforce. It is also sensitive to all the set up changes. Is a very challenging car to drive.”

Tiago Monteiro had the opportunity to take the wheel for one hour, while Norbert Michelisz attended the test and heard his fellow colleagues’ impressions.

The Honda team will test again during the second week of February.
