The 9th and 10th rounds of the FIA WTCC will take place next week in the Czech Republic, at
Brno’s Masaryk Circuit.

This is a traditional meeting for the series that has visited Brno every year from 2006.
BMW notched up seven victories out of the ten WTCC races; only Chevrolet (Robert Huff
won Race 2 in 2006 and Race 1 in 2010) and SEAT (Gabriele Tarquini in 2008 Race 2) have
managed to break the German cars’ supremacy.

The 2010 meeting saw Huff leading from lights to flag in Race 1, claiming his second victory
at the Automotodrom, four years after his maiden WTCC win. In the second race Andy
Priaulx came from fourth on the grid to give BMW its 50th WTCC victory, with Colin
Turkington completing a 1-2 finish for the German manufacturer.

With the Chevrolet Cruze cars capable of winning seven of the eight races held so far in the
season, current championship leader Huffs has the opportunity to improve his tally on the
Czech racetrack. However, Tom Coronel may become the Chevrolet team’s strongest
competitor, taking into account that his ROAL Motorsport team have always been very
competitive at Brno, winning four WTCC races here between 2007 and 2009.
