This is how Marco Tempestini’s Napoca Rally Academy Subaru Impreza R4 STI will look when he resumes his bid for IRC Production Cup glory on Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia this week.

The revamped colour scheme got its first airing during a test in Italy last week when Tempestini and co-driver Dorin Pulpea covered approximately 100 kilometres.

Afterwards Tempestini, who was born in Italy but lives in Romania, said: “The Tarmac was uneven, just like the one in Sicily. I think it’s going to be very hot out there, so we tried to find a good set-up for the next event. It’s the first time I ran the R4 shocks on Tarmac and it was amazing. The difference between the R4 and the Group N suspension is huge. We didn’t have any technical problems, so I hope we won’t have any problems in the race. The car’s reliability is our first concern, as we cannot afford another technical retirement.

“Targa Florio will be an interesting rally, and the stages look a lot like the ones in Romania in terms of speed and bumps. The main difference is the number of corners, which here is a lot bigger, and the traction offered by the Tarmac, which is a lot smaller, like in all the island rallies.”
