Nagy makes his point in the WTCC
An enforced absentee from the WTCC grid
Dániel Nagy made his long-awaited FIA World Touring Car Championship debut in Portugal last weekend – and proved a point quite literally.
Nagy, 17, had been an enforced absentee from the WTCC grid while his Zengő Motorsport team awaited delivery of an updated engine for its second Honda Civic.
With the unit installed in time for Free Practice 1 on Saturday morning, Nagy completed his first kilometres in a World Touring Car and eventually finished the Opening Race in P17 overall and eighth among the WTCC Trophy runners, which earned him a point for the privateers’ category.
