More heartbreak for the Ocean Racing Technology team: after a difficult qualifying session that saw both of their drivers lose control of their car, it was found later that Max Chilton had been improving under yellow flag.

As a consequence, the Briton was handed a penalty and will drop three positions on tomorrow’s starting grid. He will now start from eighteenth place behind Michael Herck, Davide Valsecchi and Alberto Valerio.

On the Arden International front, whilst Charles Pic qualified on pole position, his teammate Rodolfo Gonzalez could not do better than the 23rd and second-to-last laptime. During the session, the Venezuelan went wide and stopped in the gravel bed. He then rejoined the track after he received mechanical assistance. However, the stewards have decided to hand him a ten grid position penalty because of that. The Venezuelan will start from last on tomorrow’s grid.
