SUNRED Engineering is ready to launch another young and talented driver in the WTCC arena, After Pepe Oriola and Fernando Monje it is now the turn of Hugo Valente, 20-year old French from the Paris region.

Valente will race in Shanghai at the wheel of the SUNRED León 1.6L turbo car that was entrusted to Hiroki Yoshimoto at Suzuka.

After growing up in karting and Formula Renault, Valente has now resumed his racing activity after taking a sabbatic year in 2011. He is currently leading the French SEAT León Supercópa, having scored three race wins, and Sunday he will try to clinch the title on the series’ final round at Le Castellet.

“I’m delighted to be able to race in the WTCC at Shanghai and I thank SUNRED for giving me this opportunity. Is like a dream coming true. It will be an exciting and very tough challenge and I want to use this opportunity to evaluate my chances of joining the world championship next year,” Valente commented.
